Capernaum Studios & Gardens

Project type

Village Replica, Gardens and Movie set

Date

2005-2010

Location

Poolville, Texas

Lead Designer

Capernaum Studios and Gardens was designed and built between 2005 and 2010 --the dream of Tammy Lane, and designed by Nathan D. Myers.

Capernaum Studios and Majestic Statue Garden were featured in seasons 1-2 of the hit TV series The Chosen, but have been seen in nearly a hundred other movie projects and are a tourist pilgrimage phenomena outside Weatherford, Texas. The village was built as a Jewish, 1st century replica -- perfect for live, Universal Studios style performances and walk-throughs, and the gardens were built as a beautiful, meditative labyrinth to awe and inspire. They feature the beautiful concrete statue work of the late, acclaimed, South Korean Artist, Yon Sim Pak, and lead visitors from Creation to the Resurrection of Christ. Nathan D. Myers & is brother Jon Myers were, respectively, the Design Team Lead and Lead Foreman on the project. Both were knee-deep in design, construction and the Texas wilderness for a two year design and install. They were assisted by numerous, outstanding and capable men, Raymond Lynch, Richard Brian Galyean, Matt Stevens, Craig Floyd, Saul Pena, Corey Cannon, and many others.
